Brand new! Backing plate made of sustainable hemp

The quantum leap in flap disc technology. In addition to excellent material removal and a long service life, these discs offer maximum safety and resource preservation, enviromental friendliness and climate protection.

Strength and safety by FEM

The hemp fibre is enormously tear-resistant as a result of its fibre structure.
These high strength values have been achieved by using a new, patented
treatment process (impact method).
Backing plates made of hemp fibre high tech compound are designed
using the finite element method (FEM). This ensures optimum strength
and safety with minimal material use. All flap discs with hemp fibre high
tech compound backing plates have been tested by the MPA (Material
Testing Department in Hanover) and are approved under DIN EN 13743
for speeds of up to 80 m/sec.

Hemp fibre high tech compound plays a major role around
the greenhouse effect

The energy and CO2 balances can stand up to any comparison:
One ton of hemp biomass contains 500 kg of carbon, in other words one
ton of hemp has converted approximately two tons of CO2 (carbon dioxide)
into oxygen by photosynthesis during its growth process. Hemp fibre
high tech compound is easy to dispose of. Even the polypropylene binding
agent can be incinerated to 1% carbon, with very little residue.

Grind down to the last millimetre

Backing plates made of hemp fibre high tech compound trim their own
diameter during the grinding process. They can also be trimmed easily
and without any problems. Flap discs with hemp fibre high tech compound
backing plates can therefore be used down to the last millimetre
of the abrasive cloth. Trimming leaves soft, harmless chips which can be
disposed of as household waste (their odour is similar to wood fibres.

The clever ones yield

Flap discs with hemp fibre high tech compound backing plates have damping,
springing properties as a result of their fibre substrate, which enhance
their performance for grinding. This elasticity of the backing plate
ensures better adjustment and a large contact surface area on the workpiece
(more grit in use) and of course also removed more material from the
workpiece. The larger contact area also results in greater heat dissipation,
the grinding process is cooler, the workpiece does not smear as easily and
the abrasive cloth does not burn.
